An engineer-led studio for the hardware behind AI

Most coverage of AI is about models. We cover what those models run on, and the physical limits that will decide what comes next.

Why AI Chip Insider exists

The AI boom is constrained by things most people never see: memory bandwidth, advanced packaging capacity, lithography machines, power grids and export controls. These decide which companies win, which countries lead, and how fast AI actually improves.

That story is usually told either by journalists without engineering depth or by engineers who never leave the jargon. AI Chip Insider sits between the two. We explain the mechanism first, then follow it into business and geopolitics, in documentaries anyone curious about technology can follow.

Who it's for

  • Engineers and technical professionals who want the bigger picture around their field
  • Founders and operators building on AI infrastructure
  • Investors who want to understand the technology behind the tickers
  • Anyone who wants to know how the machines behind AI really work

The host
I spent nearly a decade in the semiconductor industry, from the world’s most advanced chip maker to the labs of a leading AI chip company.

AI Chip Insider is written, researched and presented by a working semiconductor engineer. That experience shapes every documentary: we start with how the hardware actually works, then ask what it means.

Editorial standards

How we work

Sourcing

Primary sources first

Key claims trace to company filings, technical papers, patents or conference disclosures. Where a figure is a company's own claim, we say so.

Analysis

Fact and opinion kept apart

We separate what is known from what we expect. Forecasts are labelled as forecasts, with the reasoning shown.

Corrections

Mistakes fixed in public

When we get something wrong, we correct it in the video description and a pinned comment. Send corrections through our contact page.

Independence

No paid coverage

No company pays to influence what we say about it. Sponsorships are always disclosed and never touch editorial judgement.

Investing

No stock tips

We discuss companies and markets for education. Nothing we publish is financial advice. See the disclaimer.

Production

AI presenter, disclosed

Some on-screen segments use a digitally generated presenter based on the host. Research, scripts and analysis are human. Videos carry YouTube's altered or synthetic content label.
